Can you run an air conditioner using a generator?
The correct answer is based on the power requirements of your specific A/C unit. In most cases, a 2KVA generator will run the most common air-conditioning units supplied in a caravan. Just check the specifications from the A/C supplier to be sure.
Can you run the air conditioner on 12V batteries & Invertor?
Most caravans today are equipped with an A/C unit that requires 2000 watts to start up and keep it running. At the very least, youโll need a DC to AC power inverter that can continually output over 2000W to transform your battery power into usable A/C electricity. Caravans usually donโt come equipped with an inverter standard unless you specifically ask for it to be installed, a basic inverter might only output 1000watts and therefore cannot run your A/C.
